THE Cebu City Government will donate more than 50 of its vehicles to 30 barangays and the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC).

The City Council approved Tuesday, June 11, 2019, the separate resolutions allowing Mayor Tomas Osmeña to sign the deed of donation and acceptance with the 30 barangay captains and the ABC for the donation of the vehicles.

Among the barangays that will get the donated vehicles are Quiot (five vehicles), Punta Princesa (four vehicles), Budlaan (three vehicles), San Jose (three vehicles), Sambag 1 (two vehicles), Sambag 2 (two vehicles), Pung-ol Sibugay (two vehicles), Sta. Cruz (two vehicles), Adlaon (two vehicles), Kamagayan (two vehicles), Ermita (two vehicles) Carreta (two vehicles), Bacayan (two vehicles), Basak San Nicolas (two vehicles), Cambinocot (two vehicles) and Busay (two vehicles).

The ABC will also get three vehicles.

This is the fourth batch of barangays that will get vehicles from the City.

In the previous batches, Barangay Kasambagan already got three vehicles, Apas and Capitol Site got two vehicles each and Barangays Carreta, Kamputhaw, Busay, Binaliw, Agsungot, Day-as, Guba, Hipodromo, Punta Princesa, Sawang Calero, and Sinsin got one vehicle each.

Earlier, Osmeña was authorized to sign the deed of donation with the 25 barangays from the first batch, 13 barangays for the second batch and another 13 barangays in the third batch.

In a previous interview, General Services Office (GSO) Chief Ronald Malacora said the vehicles were already earlier assigned to the barangays, but the City decided to donate these to the barangays to transfer ownership and allow the barangays to take over the maintenance of the vehicles.

Councilor Sisinio Andales, who sponsored the resolutions, assured that all barangays will get vehicles.

The GSO is processing the documents needed for the remaining barangays to get their share of donated vehicles. (RVC)
