THE best scenario that depicts strength and camaraderie is manifested when everybody unites -- a helping hand for each other.
This is true in welcoming the school year 2019-2020. A great way to start the school year right is to advocate the spirit of volunteerism, through our participation in the Brigada Eskwela.
Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools Maintenance Week that aims to bring together all education stakeholders -- teachers, school officials, students, parents, alumni, community leader, non-government organizations, private sectors, and other government agencies, among other stakeholders -- to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities for the opening of the school year. Brigada Eskwela has espoused the spirit of volunteerism since it establishes functional linkages and networking to stakeholders.
Through the extended help and support from the stakeholders, the school becomes a conducive learning place for our school children. It is good to note that huge number of volunteers took part to make the activity a success. After all, it is for the welfare of our children.
Through this meaningful activity, I have realized that each of us has a significant role to play. Whether big or small, our contribution means a lot to lighten the work. Let us keep the spirit of oneness and cooperation alive! (Marie Iris B. Maquindang, DepEd-Matina District)
