THE Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUP-V) was recertified by an international organization on the Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 by TUV Rheinland in a ceremony held June 11, 2019 at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City.

The ISO 9001:2015 recertification was awarded by Maria Luna Villacrusis, TUV Rheinland Senior Manager for Marketing and Sales to the university represented by TUP System President, Dr. Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres with TUP-V Campus Director Eric A.Malo-oy and Ma. Leonor F. Validor, VP Planning and Development along with the members of the faculty, staff and administration.

The international organization for standardization certification or the ISO 9001:2015 refers to the Quality Management Systems (QMS) anchored on the seven quality management principles – Customer Focus, Leadership, Engagement of People, Process Approach, Improvement, Evidence-Based Decision Making and Relationship Management.

Congressman-elect of the 3rd District, Dr. Francisco “Kiko” Benitez congratulates the university for such feat and challenges the organization to extend the scope of its quality proposition not only to the students but to the community outside its orders especially to the 3rd district and the whole province.

“In this fourth industrial revolution, TUP-V is poised to take on the challenges of the technological transformation we face today,” Benitez added.

As TUPV is gearing towards becoming the premier state university in the country with recognized excellence in engineering and technology at par with the leading universities in the ASEAN Region, the ISO 9001 ensures quality orientation by the core processes to optimize management system.

Malo-oy, campus director honored the hardworking men and women behind the success of the ISO recertification and braced themselves in the challenges that lie ahead of producing more excellent graduates, provide lifelong learning for all and raise the bar for students to be globally competitive and relevant in this technology-driven world.

Also present during the ceremony were members of the faculty, staff and administration of the university, industry partners, alumni association, barangay officials with DOST Western Visayas Director Rowen R. Gelonga and representatives from the Office of the Governor.
