Tan loses in 1st round

VIETNAM-BASED Cebuano MMA veteran Trestel Tan vowed to bounce back after a first round knockout defeat at the hands of South Korean warrior Yoon Chang Min in one of the preliminary bouts of ONE-“Legendary Quest” in Shanghai, China.

Yoon tagged Tan with a solid right straight to the head, followed by another powerful right straight that dropped him dazed. The referee stepped in to stop the fight in the 4:05 mark of the opening round.

Yoon moved up to 2-0, while the 37-year-old Tan dropped to 4-9.

Though on a four-fight losing slump, Tan is optimistic that he’ll bounce back.

“I learned a lot,” Tan told SunStar Cebu. “I will keep coming back again.”

Tan, who once trained at Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu, said he has four more fights in his contract with ONE Championship and that the organization wants to see him back.

“I still have four fights,” he said. “I talked to them and they want to see me again.” (EKA)
