Cebuanos bag top spots in bowlfest

CEBUANO bowlers held their own against visiting players as they took a 1-2 finish in the Graded Masters category of the 1st Cebu International Invitational Tenpin Bowling Championships 2019 at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center on June 16, Sunday.

Micmic Miranda of Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) bagged the title after scoring 2,411 in the 12-game series, while Luke Bolongan of Seaside Tenpin Bowling Association Inc. (STBAI-Bucoy) snagged second place with a total score of 2,402.

Archy Nasala of Team ACBI finished third with a score of 2,330, Ronnie Javier of ITBA-Imus scored 2,273 for fourth place and Frances De Leon of MTBA-Gruppo finished with 2,253 to round up the Top 5.

Joining the Top 10 were John Galindo of Cetba-Bucoy with 2,253, James Young with 2,243, Pio Mico with 2,224, Louie Bianzon with 2,179 and Marwin Santiago with 2,170.

Visiting bowler Matthew Reyes topped the Junior Masters after scoring 1,493 in the eight-game series. Nicah Ceniza of Cetba landed in second place with 1,346. He was followed by Margaret Sumanga (1,326), Joma Avila (1,326) and Sharmaine Galindo (1,288).

In the Youth Masters, reigning Cetba Bowler of the Year Joshua Galarse won the crown with a score of 1,994. Clyde Lim finished second with 1,847, John Michael Yu was third with 1,748, while Louise Santarin and Chad Tancontian took the fourth and fifth places with 1,743 and 1,634.

In the Ladies Masters, Emy Osada of Cetba scored 2,023 to bag the crown over Dianne Galendez Lim.

Lim settled for second place with 1,993. Tessie Dante placed third with 1,963, De Vera Lina settled at fourth place with 1,941 and Cielet De Leon was fifth with 1,936. (RSC)
