THE Joemang’s Surplus-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will look to continue their winning ways against the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars in the college division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Partners Cup on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Webmasters notched their third win against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USP-F) Panthers, 84-79, on June 16.
In the win against USP-F, the former University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancer, Tristan Albina led UC with 17 points, court general Darrell Shane Menina added 16 and high-leaper John Jabelle pitched in 13.
With a three-game win streak under its fold, UC is expected to enjoy the momentum when it hunts for its fourth win against the USJ-R.
The Jaguars, meanwhile, are still looking for their first win after dropping the first two assignments. USJ-R suffered its second straight loss against the USC Warriors, 68-93, on June 15 and is eager to bounce back.
In the high school division, the Tough Gear/Southwestern University (SWU-Phinma) Baby Cobras will look to get back to the winning track after a loss to the OCCCI/Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildkittens last June 15.
SWU-Phinma will battle the league’s newcomer UC-Lapu-Lapu Mandaue (UCLM). SWU-Phinma has an even 1-1 record while UCLM is at 0-2. (RSC)
