DAVAO City bowler Tessa Dianne Galendez-Lim collected four awards at the close of the 1st Cebu International Invitational Tenpin Bowling Championships 2019 Sunday, June 16, 2019, at the SM Bowling Center, Cebu City.
The two-time SM Millionaire's Cup titlist emerged champion in singles ladies, placed second in Ladies Masters category, third in Open Masters division and also third in Associate Masters event.
The 25-year-old Dabawenya won a total cash prize of P169,000 in her first national tournament comeback since getting married and giving birth to her first child 13-month-old Vince Dean who also joined her entourage in Cebu.
"I am so thankful because I did not expect to win since I have lesser time for practice because I am a full time mom," she told SunStar Davao in a Facebook interview before boarding a plane back to Davao Monday afternoon, June 17.
She, however, added, "It's harder for me now that I am a mother compared to when I was single because during the game, whenever I have spare time, I breastfeed my son. But with the support of my husband and my parents, it's easier for me to be a bowler while being a mother."
Galendez-Lim, who is currently based in Bansalan, Davao del Sur, gave up her job at a bank when she had a baby and only returned to competitive bowling last March where she also won a title in the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba)-organized weekly tournament.
