Ocon back ‘on air’ with Canoy's RMN Radyo

CAGAYAN de Oro City Councilor Zaldy Ocon, after being out "on air" for some weeks, is now back on Radyo Mindanao Network (RMN) since Monday, June 17 and went on his usual daily radio programs.

Ocon went incognito for several days after receiving backlash for berating former mayor Reuben Canoy on June 7. Ocon also skipped the Independence Day rites and Charter Day celebrations, but went to a special session of the City Council on the afternoon of June 15.

Canoy's daughter Rhona reported that Ocon was fired from RMN, after the video of the argument between Ocon and Canoy went viral.

Rhona said she was surprised after learning Ocon's return to work.

"Whatever is the decision of the management, ilaha na, basta wala mi kabalo," she said.

Canoy said the Remove Ocon movement will continue its actions against Ocon, the recent, is filing a complaint before the blue ribbon committee.

She said they will pursue a complaint to the Office of the President.

"Ang iyang obligasyon sa tibuok syudad man, dili sa amo. Nag-file mi ug complaint para ma-determine nila kung ang iyang behavior pwede ba na siya sa usa ka public official," she said.

Rhona said Ocon should apologize to the Kagayanons.

"Dili namo ni siya undangan, malumos siya sa kaso," she added.
