The birth of Rotary Club Binalbagan-East

THE Rotary International District 3850 officers and members have welcomed the birth of the Rotary Club of Binalbagan-East, which was founded on May 30, 2019 and had its inauguration and oathtaking of its founding club officers on June 16, 2019 at the Mt. Carmel Arcade, J.P. Rizal Street, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

The creation of this new club was the handwork of some of the well meaning RC East officers namely Past District Governor Philip S. Abello, Past President Franklin G. Fuentevella, Club President Philip Araneta and several others, which is considered as a meaningful addition to the existing Rotary Clubs under RI District 3850.

District Governor Lindon See Diet came to Binalbagan, all the way from a rotary convention in Hamburg, Germany and was with District Governor-elect Leonardo Rafael "Raphy" Tayco, District Governor-nominee Louie Gonzaga and some other PDGs and past presidents during the inauguration of RC Binalbagan-East.

Governor Diet administered the oath of office of the newly-installed officers led by its founding President Rael M. Lopez; Ephrem G. Dadivas, Vice President; Theresa Agnes Lopez, Secretary; Max Guanco, Treasurer; Zaldy Geroy, Director, Rotary Foundation; Jose Rull, Jr., Director for Club Administration, Raphael Gabayeron, Director for Service Projects; Eumarie T. Bayles, Director for Membership; Arnold Gaborro and Leonida Gaborro, Director for Public Image.

The officers were with their respective spouses whom some were also new Rotarians namely Mrs. Ma. Lourdes Dadivas, Eva Geroy, Procesa Rull and Julie Carr Gabayeron.

The new club members were Caren Jean Abkilan, Francisco Tantia, Romulo Gavazan, Sr., Jose Ma. Angel Guanco, Ryan Escobia, Ramon Tuale, Edwin Pabontosa, Louel Rubin, Melanie Yangan, Glena Ganon, Ursecio Inodeo and Mary Ann Inodeo and Samuel Alabado and Arlene Alabado.

The members were also joined by their respective spouses.

Moreover, the founding President Lopez vowed to serve his fellowmen through Rotary.

“This serves as the answer to my quest to live with a purpose.”

Lopez has served the Philippine National Police for 28 years.

Quoting Kahlil Gibran who said, “You give but little when you give your possessions. It is when you give yourself that you truly give.”

He wants to serve as an inspiration to others and to the next generation.
