Bacolod election officer returns to office

BACOLOD City Election registrar Mavil Majarucon-Sia already returned to her office in Bacolod City effective Monday, June 17.

Majarucon-Sia, who was earlier reshuffled by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to Iloilo City, said on Monday that all the election officers who were reshuffled in May elections now returned to their respective offices effective June 17.

She said Ann Janette Lamban, who replaced here in Bacolod, also returned to her office in Lapu-Lapu City.

In February, Comelec reshuffled Majarucon-Sia and Lamban along with the election officer of Iloilo City.

Majarucon-Sia said that Lamban already turned over all the documents to her personnel.

She said they are now preparing for the voter’s registration in July for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections in May 2020.

“We want to prepare early for the barangay elections,” she added.

Meanwhile, Majarucon-Sia said there will be no extension for the filling of Statements of Election Contributions and Expenditures (Soce) for the four losing candidates in Bacolod City who failed to meet the deadline on June 13.

“The campaign finance office of Comelec is going to send them a demand letter in relation to their administrative fine,” she said.

Of 35 candidates in Bacolod, only 31 submitted its Soce for the May elections before its deadline on June 13.

Soce is a comprehensive report about the campaign contributions and expenditures of political candidates.
