Mayor-elect to work on dialysis center

CLARK FREEPORT -- Magalang town Mayor-elect Romulo Pecson has vowed to work on the establishment of a renal care unit or dialysis center to help his constituents suffering from kidney failure and other related internal organ ailments.

Pecson said he will continue sourcing out funds and equipment to complete the dialysis center.

"We already started soliciting equipment from World Medical Relief but our effort was stopped when we were defeated in the mayoralty race in 2016," he said.

Aside from this, Pecson said he will invite more investors to put up businesses in the first-class agricultural town.

He said multi-national companies started to put up businesses in the municipality during his term from 2009 to 2016 before he was defeated in the mayoralty race by outgoing Mayor Malu Lacson.

Multi-national food chain companies, including Jollibee, Chowking, and others are now located in the town, he said.

"We will invite more investors and we will become a commercial center like other towns in Pampanga in the next few years," Pecson said.

"This is one of our programs and we hope to realize this in the next three years of our term," he added.

The mayor-elect earlier vowed to implement programs that will give regular allowances to all senior citizens and free medicines to indigent residents.

Pecson said these are the "campaign promises" of his team "Love Magalang," which is under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

"All of them (elderly) will receive allowance. Number two is we will not let health centers run out of medicines. Those were our promises to our constituents," Pecson said.
