THE Pet Festival Philippines of Parkmall in Mandaue City was not just meant for a show.

The festival was conceived to uphold the mall’s advocacy for responsible pet ownership. It was also organized to unite pet lovers and enthusiasts in a single venue.

To make Parkmall’s initiative more purposeful, it partnered with government agencies and groups that share the same love for animals. One of the groups is the mall’s long-time partner—the Island Rescue Organization (IRO).

The latest edition of Pet Festival Philippines was held on May 16-26, 2019. However, Parkmall’s pet-loving activities did not stop.

Last June 1, Parkmall employees came together to volunteer their services at the Camp IRO shelter in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

For the whole day, the dogs and cats were served like kings and queens. The employee-volunteers cleaned Camp IRO. They also bathed the dogs and prepared their meals, and built a new cattery for the shelter of the rescued cats.

It was a day full of wagging tails and meows, which the volunteers believed to be the animals’ expressions of joy.

Parkmall would like to extend its gratitude to the pet festival’s partner brands and registrants from the various pet fest activities. They gave donations to Camp IRO and volunteers.

Parkmall also felt grateful to IRO for giving its employees the opportunity to live its advocacy for rescued animals.
