TAGUIG City First District Representative-elect Alan Peter Cayetano said President Rod]rigo Duterte has simplified his vision for the country -- safe and comfortable life for every Filipino.

During a forum dubbed "Vision Into Reality" at Quest Hotel in Clark Freeport Tuesday, June 18, Cayetano said: "Pinasimple ng husto ng ating Pangulo ang vision nya sa ating bansa; isang ligtas at comportableng buhay sa bawat Pilipino."

He said this vision will be realized with a united Congress.

Elected officials will perform and deliver well if resources and systems are in place, said Cayetano.

"You want to be able to perform and deliver. If you have all the resources and if all systems are in place, madali yan. But there are

realities facing us. For example, a three-year term, papasok kayo gitna ng term much of the money have been spent already," Cayetano said.

"Kung hindi natin aayusin ang budget for the next month or so, then yung 2020 budget maipapasa natin na hindi natin sure na ang bawat sulok ng Pilipinas ay mayroong development plan at pondo," he added.

Around 20 percent of Congress are partylist and receiving special interest and also aiming for Vision Into Reality, he said.

Cayetano also underscored the need to know, through a planning session, what the representatives from all over the country want to achieve in their respective congressional districts in terms of infrastructure,

education, health, human development, sanitation, safety and other programs.

"Where do you want us to be in 2021 and 2022? Now, one of our limitations is the term limit of three years. That will be one of the proposals in the constitutional change. But we should also have more practical immediate change and one of that is our relationship with the executive department," Cayetano said.

The former Foreign Affairs secretary said he had been a congressman for three terms.

"I've been in Congress for 20 years and 11 years at Senate, three years and a half at the executive and six years in the local governance, vice mayor and councilor," he said.

"I think this is the optimum time. I haven't seen another time that the Lord align all of the stars. What do I mean by that? A president that can deliver. Yes, he doesn't speak like an environmentalist but look at Manila Bay, Boracay. The waste that other countries dump into our country was transported back to them," Cayetano said.

He also cited the President's ability to balance world forces and geopolitics in the country.

"When it comes to resources, isn't our economy doing well? And Congress played a big part of that and thank you for passing the first package of the Train Law," Cayetano said.
