MisOr’s ‘Bayanihang Bulilit’ aims for early child’s development

THE Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental has launched early this month the Bayanihang Bulilit which aims to provide quality learning facilities for children attending the early child development centers in the province.

Marden Ocot, head of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) department, said the Bayanihang Bulilit is the capitol’s version of Brigada Eskwela of the Department of Education.

The one-day activity aims to upgrade the early childhood development centers in terms of improvement of its physical structure, among others.

Ocot said the ECCD also provides school and learning materials, floor mats and cleaning equipment.

“Atong ginapanindot ang center, we provide them school materials mga toys, nagtuo mi nga sa gamay namo nga natabang dako ni og mahimo para sa pagpa-ugmad sa edukasyon sa kabataan,” Ocot said.

Ocot said the ECCD has adopted the new curriculum which focuses on learn and play sessions.

“We discouraged centers nga naay lingkuranan ug tables kay free play ang atong focus so pwede maghigda ang mga bata during session. Ang lamesa and bangko gamiton during feeding,” she added.

The ECCD has identified four recipients this year namely; the child development centers in Salay, Balingoan, Naawan and Initiao. The beneficiaries were chosen based on the recommendation of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

Ocot said the capitol allotted around P300,000 for the Bayanihang Bulilit.

“Since bounded ta with limited resources, upat lang sa ka centers atong recipients pero we plan nga madugangan gyud,” Ocot said.

The ECCD head commended the private entities and other partner groups who took part and supported the activity.

“Pasalamat ta sa daghan kaayo willing nga motabang sa atong activity,” she added.
