VIRGILIO “Billy” Magdale and Mike Aquiatan emerged champions in separate Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) tournaments held at SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center.
Magdale, an optometrist by profession, rolled a total of 611 pins after three games in the weekly tournament held Tuesday evening.
He, who had a 24 handicap, bested Jesrael Rule and Gab Velasco who placed second and third, respectively, in the tournament that serves as qualifying for the monthly finals.
Rule scored 608 pinfalls while Velasco made 600 in the 15-player field.
The top three players received P900, P400, and P200.
Aquiatan, meanwhile, toppled 615 pinfalls in another three-game bowlfest held Saturday evening at the same venue. He went home with P700.
Crystal Chavez amassed 601 to grab the runner-up prize of P300 while Julius Cajis, 571, received P300 for placing third.
Another qualifying tournament is slated Saturday. (MLSA)
