PHOTOGRAPHS can tell so much about who we are as individuals: what we find beautiful, delightful, entertaining, interesting, inspiring, and all-important. It allows us to showcase our emotions, personal styles, adventures, and relationships to mark the passage of time.

It even got better with digital photography, as anyone can improve their photographs through photo manipulation. Photo manipulation is when one modifies the photos to create and show an illusion and a different kind of art.

Widely accepted as an art form, photo manipulation or photo editing requires a skill and an active imagination. Using Photoshop or other editing tools, many digital artists have taken it to mind blowing levels, creating everything they can imagine and work on something.

Now, if you love taking photos and feel like going beyond “just taking photos, printing or posting it directly online” whether it is a landscape, cityscape, portrait or fashion, whatever it is, the F-squared Technologies Inc. will provide you a two-day Software Training.

Whether you are interested in learning new image editing software or getting a solid introduction to the visual elements that make up good photos, F-squared Technologies Inc. will deliver things you need to know about Photoshop, In-design, and Illustrator, plus photography for the beginners.

I can tell, because I was among the participants in their two-day Software Training scheduled last June 9 and 10. Though these things are not new to me at all, I always wondered how pro graphic designers and artists do their jobs.

Micah B. Pil, along with Quinn Florence G. Astillo, Prince Somosot, Rex Frayna and the rest of the F-squared Technologies staff, taught their participants to process and edit images, give it extra punch, fix it, and clean the view, and model’s complexion or hair. First activity was to make a magazine cover layout.

The participants also learned how to work with masks, adjust and master contrasts, shadows and highlights; and color harmony--how to work selectively with each color and apply one to your Photoshop output.

So, how are Photoshop and In-design related to photography? Just look at the billboards, check the magazines, newspapers, or comics, these are all created by the photographers, graphic designers, graphic artists, and writers together.

As we continue to move through a high-tech era and e-commerce business is gradually taking over, you might want to consider these skills. Why? It increases the quality of your art work, it could be a great business, and it is fun because you can express your creativity. (Ivy C. Tejano/Contributor)
