4 cops arrested for gambling, drinking

FOUR policemen and three civilians were arrested on Wednesday evening, June 19, after they were caught in the act of gambling and drinking liquor while in police uniform in a public place.

Philippine National Police - Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Rey Lambojo identified the arrested police personnel as Senior Sergeant Erwin Gobis, Senior Master Sergeant Demetrio Laroya and Corporal Ariel Pasion and Senior Sergeant Gerry Ocampo.

Except for Ocampo, who is assigned to the PNP Crime Laboratory, the rest are all assigned at PNP Health Service in Camp Crame.

They were arrested inside Belen Lutong Bahay Restaurant located in Bagong Lipunan, Cubao, Quezon City, which is near Camp Crame, while betting on an online game and at the same time drinking liquor while in police uniform.

Recovered during the operation were cash and bottles of liquor. (SunStar Philippines)
