AROUND a thousand pairs of footwear are placed along the Sarimanok-Sagonsongan Diversion Road in Marawi City, symbolizing the civilians killed during the Marawi siege two years ago.

"Shoes parade: a walk to remember" is organized by civil society groups in Marawi, in observance of World Refugee Day.

The groups also lamented the slow rehabilitation efforts, and called for the immediate passage of Marawi Reparation and Compensation Bill pending in Congress. (Photo courtesy of Leah Tarhata Mehila)
