THE Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) reported that the real estate and information and communication technology (ICT) industries remain to be the main players in the economic growth of Davao City.
“Infrastructure and real estate development is one of the prime drivers of Davao City’s robust economic status,” Davao City Investment Promotion Center (DCIPC) head Lemuel Ortonio said during the 5th Davao Investment Conference Thursday, June 20.
“Population growth, including continued local migration, is expected to keep the city’s real estate sector vigorous,” he added.
The information and communication technology (ICT) industry in the city was also seen to play a role in the “good” governance and economic growth.
Ortonio said the demand for ICT and business processing outsourcing industry consistently grew which prompted the city to become the 9enter of Excellence.
“This is through the continnued effort in improving the business environment as the leading destination for ICT companies,” he said.
“Investment in the establishment of IT parks and PEZA-accredited facilities are becoming more attractive with the current demand for more BPO spaces and facilities in the city,” he added.
Among the investment opportunities for ICT companies in the city are BPO voice, BPO non-voice, data/entry processing, payroll, finance and accounting outsourcing, software development, virtual assistance and web development. (LHC)
