THE Talisay PNP seized forest products loaded in a passenger jeep in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City on June 19 for violation of Presidential Decree 705 or the revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
The Talisay City PNP said they received a call from punong barangay Apellido of Barangay Matab-ang informing the police that they flagged down a red passenger jeep loaded with 80 pieces of gmelina lumber with different sizes taken from Had. Guinto, Barangay Matab-ang, driven by Sonny Boy Lasquite, 55, of Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.
The driver was not able to present any legal documents pertaining to the gmelina load. The vehicle and forest products were under the custody of Eng’r Paduano, Environmental Officer of Talisay City and the case was referred to DENR, CENRO 8, Bago City for proper resolution and disposition.
Meanwhile, a wanted person for acts of lasciviousness was arrested on June 19 at Purok Fortune, Barangay Alegria, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The arrested suspect was identified as Joven Soliguin, 38, and resident of the same place.
The arrest of the suspect was made by the Murcia PNP by virtue of warrant of arrest signed by Judge Ray Alan Drilon, of RTC Branch 41, Bacolod City dated December 11, 2013 with bail recommended fixed at P200,000 for his temporary liberty.
The suspect was placed under the custodial facility of Murcia PNP for proper disposition. (TDE)
