City Government releases Spes salaries

SALARIES for the first batch of beneficiaries of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (Spes) can now be claimed at the Zamboanga City Treasurer's Office.

The first batch of payment will cover the 1,366 college students who worked for a 20-day period in various City Government offices and villages from April 23 to May 20.

The program is a joint undertaking of the City Government and the Department of Labor and Employment at 60-40 percent sharing in the salaries.

City Social Welfare Officer Socorro Rojas said the beneficiaries will receive a total of P10,061.80 for the 20-day work duration, which is equivalent to P503.09 per student, 60 percent of which amounts to P301.85 and the 40 percent of P201.24.

Rojas advised the student-beneficiaries to bring their valid school identification cards, which should be presented to Spes coordinators at the Public Employment Service Office (Peso) where they will secure certification slip and sign the payroll copy.

From Peso, Rojas said they will proceed to the City Treasurer's Office to claim the 60 percent salary from cashier Katherine Fernandez. (SunStar Philippines)
