Australian app developer opens in Cebu IT Park

MELBOURNE-based app developer, Appetiser, has expanded their presence in the Philippines in Cebu IT Park.

Responding to a growing demand for their app development and design services, this is their third location in the Philippines since establishing their presence in Davao in 2017, alongside a sales office in Germany.

The choice to expand in the Philippines evolved from testing the skill level of developers in the region. The founders of Appetiser, Michael MacRae and Jamie Shostak, created coding challenges for developers in multiple cities around the world.

“Our teams in Davao and Cebu were miles ahead in quality and skill set compared to everyone else,” said MacRae.

“We’re really excited about opening our new office in Cebu. The city has a fast-developing technology scene, and we wanted to get on board as soon as possible.” he added.

“Our developers are very talented and hard-working. They shares even technical patents between them, which is very impressive,” he said.

“The work we deliver for our clients is only as good as our collective team effort and talent. We’ve hired superstars in the past whose personality didn’t match our team culture and so our collective results suffered. We love working with our Philippine team because they complement our Aussie culture: they’re driven, hard-working and talented,” said Shostak.

Its team of 75 people across three continents includes designers and developers that have worked for the likes of Apple, Google, Samsung, Accenture, BMW, Allianz and many innovative start-ups.

Appetiser is Australia’s leading web and mobile app development agency with clients such as Youfoodz and Roamni. (PR)
