CCP to conduct performing arts mentoring workshop in Bacolod

THE Cultural Center of the Philippines will conduct a Mentoring and Coaching Session for the Performing Arts Companies and Stakeholders workshop on July 9 in Bacolod City.

This event in partnership with the Negros Cultural Foundation, Performance Laboratory, Inc. and Teatrokon West Visayas Theater Network aims to prime and equip selected performing arts companies in the Visayas in preparation for the first Manila International Performing Arts Market (Mipam) on September 19 to 21 at the CCP Complex in Manila.

As CCP celebrates its 50th anniversary on September, Mipam will serve as a venue for international performing groups, primary international performing festival organizers and promoters, producers, agents, and impresarios that will meet and engage in business opportunities and arts promotion.

The event is dubbed as Mipam x Create PH as CCP is partnering with Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (Citem), the export promotion arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Mipam x Create PH will also be the global platform for performances and business-to-business exchange to the Federation for Asian Cultural Promoters (FACP) and the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centre (AAPPAC) which the CCP will be hosting from September 18-23.

Tanya Lopez, Negros Museum Director said that it is important for artists, cultural workers, art managers to take part in these endeavors as Arts and Culture.

An arts market provides opportunities for both art and cultural producers and consumers to engage, collaborate and exchange. This will result to the creation of business opportunities and jobs and exposure for our local artists through performances, exhibits, festivals and many more, she added.

The Mipam workshop in Bacolod is for free on July 9 from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. To reserve a slot, contact Gloven Gerogalin at 0910 632 1237 or email negros_museum96@yahoo.com. (PR)
