A SUSPECT for illegal possession of firearms was arrested at Purok Tangke, Barangay Pandanon Silos, Murcia town, Negros Occidental on June 20.
The suspect was identified by the Murcia PNP as Chris Espares, 26 years old and a resident of Barangay Pandanon Silos.
A concerned citizen of the said barangay reported to Murcia PNP that there was a male person at their place holding a short firearm and creating alarm and scandal.
Personnel of Murcia PNP responded and apprehended the suspect who was caught in possession of one .38caliber revolver without ammunition and no pertinent papers. The suspect was placed under their custody.
Meanwhile, the members of Silay City PNP recovered suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P150,000 in a drug bust conducted on June 20, at 1:15 p.m. at KalyeOnse, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City.
The operation also led to the arrest of Mercy Solano, 59 years old, and a resident of Barangay Mambulac.
He was placed under the custodial facility of Silay CPS after the medical check-up at Silay City Health for proper disposition.
The confiscated illegal drugs were brought to Regional Crime Laboratory office 6, Iloilo City subject for drug test and laboratory examination. (TDE)
