Marañon to deliver Sopa on June 27

Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed that outgoing Governor Alfredo Marañon is set to deliver his final State of the Province Address (Sopa) on June 27.

Lacson said the official turnover of the province from Marañon to him will also take place during the occasion.

He confirmed that his inauguration and oath taking along with vice governor-elect Jeffrey Ferrer and the members of the provincial board will take place on June 29.

The governor-elect said he will take his oath of office before San Carlos City Judge Catherine Go.

Lacson added that he will formally turnover the provincial board to Ferrer on June 26.

Meanwhile, Lacson refused to reveal yet his provincial administrator but said he will name the new one on June 27 during the turnover of the province.

He added that he will not yet make an announcement about his future projects for the province during the oath taking.

He earlier said the provincial government under his care will have minimal number of casual employees.

The selection on who will be the next representative of the Provincial Councilor’s League (PCL) at the provincial board is not covered by the merger between the United Negros Alliance and the Love-Negros, Lacson added.

He revealed that their group Love-Negros will field a candidate from the sixth district of the province. However, he refused to name the said councilor. The PCL election may take place in August.
