AFTER losing their season opener, the new-look Cebu Sharks logged their first win, 50-42, over Marikina Shoemasters in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Cup on June 21, 2019 at the Marist School Gymnasium in Marikina.
John Patrick Cabahug once again led the Sharks with 14 points from a 50 percent shooting clip, along with three rebounds and a steal. William McAloney added nine markers, four boards and a steal, while former pro Eliud Poligrates chipped in six points and four rebounds.
Justine Padua had 10 markers, eight rebounds and a steal to lead the Shoemasters, while Daryl Pascual contributed eight points, nine boards, a steal and a block.
The Sharks lost their season opener, 75-71, to Bulacan last June 14 at the Strike Gym. Cebu improved to 1-1, while Marikina dropped to 0-2. (EKA)
