Vicelles faces tough test in Liloan

UNBEATEN prospect Mark Vicelles is up against the stiffest test of his career when he takes on world-rated Jessie Espinas for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia South light flyweight crown on July 6, 2019 in the main event of #Kumbati 3 sa Liloan at the Frasco Memorial Gymnasium. The 23-year-old Vicelles is coming off the biggest win of his career after a technical decision over former International Boxing Federation Youth flyweight champion Robert Onggocan two months ago at the Parkmall. Vicelles is 10-0-1 with five knockouts, while Espinas is 19-3 with 11 knockouts. Espinas is still ranked No. 14 in the WBC and No. 15 in the IBF. “It’s important because this is for the WBA Asia South belt,” Omega Pro Sports International (OPSI) vice-president Jerome Calatrava told SunStar Cebu. “We want to become world-rated and then hopefully fight for bigger titles in the future.” (EKA)
