Garma ‘to leave PNP for PCSO’

IT’S semi-official.

Police Colonel Royina Garma is quitting the police force to take up a post in the Duterte cabinet.

The director of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) reportedly announced she would avail herself of early retirement during the rank inspection Saturday morning, June 22, 2019.

Garma urged police personnel to love their job for the benefit of the organization, their family, the city and the whole country.

In a Facebook post, City Councilor Joel Garganera, chairman of the Cebu City Advisory Council, said Garma will be appointed general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in two weeks.

Superbalita Cebu tried to contact Garma for her comment, to no avail.

However, Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas, Police Regional Office 7 director, confirmed that he received a report that Garma would soon be replaced as CCPO director.

He said that Garma would be assigned to a high position in government.

“We are waiting for the official report or orders for her. We withheld the announcement, but we have already an advance information,” Sinas said.

The police official earlier said there would be a revamp in the region in the upcoming weeks, especially with many police officials retiring.

On Tuesday, June 25, the command of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) will be officially turned over to Police Colonel Roderick Mariano.

Camp Crame relieved CPPO Director Manuel Abrugena earlier this week and ordered his transfer to the National Capital Region Police Office. (FROM AYB of superbalita cebu / PJB)
