ANGELES CITY--- Subic Clark Alliance for Development Council chair Edgardo Pamintuan has denounced the killing of an executive officer of a village here on Thursday.

Jesus Barrameda, a supporter and leader of Pamintuan, was shot dead along Francisco G. Nepomuceno Avenue corner Cruz Avenue, Barangay Pulung Maragul at 11 a.m. by one of two unidentified men riding a black motorcycle.

Pamintuan expressed hope that the killing will not lead to more election-related violence.

“I hope that it has nothing to do with his effective campaigning for Team Agyu Tamu,” Pamintuan said.

Pamintuan is running for mayor here under the administration’s Lakas-Kampi-CMD party with his slate Team Agyu Tamu.

Senior Superintendent Danilo Bautista, city police officer-in-charge, said Barrameda sustained at least three gun shot wounds.

Barrameda was taken to the nearest hospital shortly after the incident but died along the way, police said.

Meanwhile, Bautista said the shooting of Barrameda is not an election-related case.

“The shooting to death of Barrameda doesn’t fall or qualify under election related violence. The victim is not a political leader, organizer, of avid supporter standing out supporting a particular candidate or party for this coming election,” Bautista said.

The city police pursue at least two angles in the case, Bautista said: “Job related and personal grudge.”

Follow up investigation is ongoing to find the suspects, Bautista said. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
