AN ESCAPEE of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), who was charged for homicide, was recaptured by authorities on Saturday morning after he was pointed to have been involved in a series of motor napping incidents in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
PRO 11 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Marcelo Morales identified the arrested suspect as Danny Boy Cabra Cabrera alias Gamay Cabrera, 33, and a resident of 76-a, Barangay Bucana, Davao City who is allegedly involved in a series of motornapping incidents in Sta Cruz, Davao del Sur and other nearby municipalities
Upon conducting a background check, it was learned that the suspect escaped from prison last August 3, 2018. He was jailed for the case of Homicide at Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 17, Davao City.
He was arrested by the officers of Sta Cruz Municipal Police Station in Makilala, North Cotabato after they received reliable information through intelligence gathering that the suspect was seen at Purok 4, Barangay Batasan, North Makilala, Cotabato and in the possession and control of the carnapped motorcycles. Upon receiving the information, police officers proceeded to the location of the suspect.
By 5:45 p.m., the team returned with the arrested suspect and recovered from the suspect's possession and control was one unit of carnapped Motorcycle described as Honda RS 125 Motorcycle color black with engine number KPG 10E018201 which was stolen last December 2018 at Barangay Inawayan, Sta Cruz Davao del Sur.
Meanwhile, a case for violation of Republic Act 6539 or Anti-Carnapping Act will be filed against Cabrera before his subsequent turn-over to DPPF.
