Capitol contractual workers face uncertainty

THE Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) has expressed apprehension on the faith of about 844 contractual employees whose contracts will end on June 30.

"We equally sympathize with our co-workers who will be affected by the expiration of their contract of employment," PACE in a statement said.

The apprehension was aired by PACE after Governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson said that his administration will have minimal contractual or casual employees.

He said however that those who are qualified will be given priority to be hired as regular employees.

"Rest assured that PACE will lobby for the regularization of those who can meet the qualification standard for all vacant positions. Anent thereto, we have great respect to the wisdom and prerogative of the incoming administration in choosing whom they deem fit qualified and capable employees," PACE added.

PACE also commits full support and will remain a partner of the Provincial Government in its endeavor in serving the best interest of the Negrenses.

Lacson said that he will also have minimal consultants and Executive Assistants.

Lacson with the other newly-elected officials will assume office on July 1.
