Young Thespians of Cebu holds workshop

THE independent theater company Young Thespians of Cebu is collaborating with Blessed Trinity Achievers’ Academy for a summer youth program dubbed as “Theater, Drama and Discipline Workshop.”

The workshop aims to reinvigorate the human spirit through dramatic acting, and promote artistic awareness by engaging in the creative process of workshops, rehearsals and performances.

Final performances include four one-act plays: “Disney X” (written by Emman Mante); “The World is an Oyster” (written by Haidee Palapar); “An Odious Damned Lie” (written by Lewis W. Heniford); and “New Yorker in Pasil” (an adaptation of the play New Yorker In Tondo written by Marcelino Agana Jr.).

Playing on stage as actors of the four plays are Christopher Hoiseth, Chloe Cruz, Drew Esotto, Bettina Talaver, Mischa Banaynal, Rajah Sungahid, Jodi Galbo, Josef Gauntero, Miguel Dapat, Matthew Dapat, Yanna Apat, Charlie de Vera, Chloe Tagalog, Adrienne Ng, Beverly Catampo and Cate Arriesgado.

Students who will debut as young stage directors are Alan Rico and Yvonne Lim. They are mentored by overall artistic director Emman Mante, who took up masters in theater arts at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

The theatrical event is set up in a black box theater stage managed by Jesse “Sume” Olis and produced by Blessed Trinity Achievers’ Academy school directress Yvette Yntig.

Watch the performances on June 29-30, 2019 with two shows a day (2 p.m. and 5 p.m.). The shows will be held at The Core Unit 2A of FLC Center on Hernan Cortes St. in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City. For inquires, one may contact these numbers: 0927-207-2787 or 0917-306-2975. (S)
