A FIRE struck Colawin Elementary School and razed six classrooms in Barangay Colawin, Argao on June 23, 2019, Sunday.

FO3 Ardenton Sardido, duty investigator of Argao Fire Station, said they received the alarm at 2:27 p.m. It was placed under control at 3:05 p.m. and was declared fire out at 5:24 p.m.

The fire trucks of Argao and Sibonga towns responded to the fire scene in the mountain village located 20 kilometers from the Argao Fire Station.

Residents also helped put out the blaze.

The fire razed six classrooms in two Marcos-type school buildings, a two to three-classroom building with concrete walls and flooring.

Damage was pegged at P3,840,000.

Sardido said the cause of the fire is still under investigation but it may have something to do with the school’s electrical line. (JOB)
