Quibranza: New show, come on over

IF EVERYTHING goes according to plan, this article will see print on June 25, Tuesday. By then, I will already be exploring the food and streets of Osaka, Japan with the girlfriend and her officemates. Also, I would have already filmed two episodes for our latest show.

See, yours truly was tasked by this office to come up with a “music podcast” of sorts where I would be hosting several guests who are ready to talk about all things music. The show can have bands or songwriters over, it can feature music teachers or hobbyists, or entrepreneurs who involve themselves in the music business.

I thought it best not to preempt the show, so I would rather refrain from divulging the show name and concept. Yeah, I came up with it. It can sound pretty boring. But at the end of the day, it should be just fine.

So basically, what this entry is about is two things:

First off, follow ViveCast on Facebook. ViveCast is our channel where we tackle lifestyle trends and topics but we do so in the digital realm (complementary to what we have already mastered, print media). It is in its birth phase, so expect of a lot of experimenting and improving along the way. Nonetheless, ViveCast and its upcoming programs is something you should keep note of if you want to be in-the-know of what’s happening locally, socially.

Second, and more importantly, I need you guys to pitch all the “music guests” you want us to feature on the show. I think it’s pretty awesome that ViveCast is allowing me to do this, so we can totally cover the local music scene players and learn what they’re up to these days. Best part of all, there will be new episodes out on a regular basis. I think there’s going to be two artists featured per month.

Ah, no. The best part of all, is the network in which this show will be promoted on: SunStar. For Cebuanos, SunStar is a newspaper. But what many fail to realize is that it is actually just one part of a bigger picture. SunStar has several partners in key cities in the Philippines. With the help of the internet, through ViveCast, we have a shot at promoting Cebu music not just in Cebu but in locations like Manila and Davao.

So, please. Probably on some thread in a Facebook post, let us know who you think should be featured in this new music show. Cheers!
