THE newly elected officials of San Carlos City will hold its oath-taking ceremony at the San Carlos City Hall on June 30.
Negros Occidental First District Congressman-elect outgoing San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr., said they will hold their oath-taking with the newly elected officials of San Carlos City led by mayor-elect outgoing Vice-Mayor Rene Gustilo along with its newly elected councilors.
“It’s our tradition to hold our oath-taking ceremony with the local officials here,” he said.
Valmayor added that he’s thankful for all the support of the people of San Carlos City and the First District of Negros Occidental.
As the new congressman of the First District, Valmayor said that he will continue the bills which were filed by outgoing First District Congressman Melecio Yap.
He said he will re-file the two bills of Yap which were not approved by the Senate such as the township of the Salvador Benedicto and the creation of the engineering district for the First District of Negros Occidental.
“It’s also part of my plan to focus on the construction of roads in various areas of First District to improve the farm productivity or farm-to-market roads,” he added.
Valmayor, who finished his three terms as mayor of San Carlos City, vowed to deliver the services for the people of First District.
For his part, Gustilo said that he will continue the projects of Valmayor that he already started in San Carlos City such as the development of the People’s Park, Marina Bay and other projects for tourism.
“We also have some problems that we need to address such as water, traffic among others,” he said.
He added that San Carlos City is always an awardee in the region and national levels.
Gustilo noted that Valmayor has a good performance in leading the city. He improved and developed the city such as the construction of the San Carlos City Hospital worth P200-million which was constructed in 2016.
San Carlos City allotted P150-million a year to run the hospital.
“We are doing these for our people here in San Carlos City,” Gustilo said.
