THE Batch 2006 is on a mission to force a deciding game when they clash against the Batch 2002 in Game 2 of their best-of-three championship series in the 2019 Abellana National School Alumni Basketball League (ANSABL) on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Brgy. Sawang Calero, Cebu City.
Batch 2002 drew first blood in Game 1 with a pulsating 92-89 win last June 23. Ruben Rentucan put up an all-around game to lead the winning team with 22 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Maximo Medina II poured in 17 points, grabbed two rebounds and dished out seven assists, while Loue Ramos handed 16 points, five rebounds, one assist and a steal to help Batch 2002 escape with the three-point win.
Neil Jacaban filled up the stats sheets with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in a losing effort for the Batch 2006.
Eduard Patalinghug added 15 points and Kirwen Damos chipped in 14 points on top of three rebounds, eight assists and four steals for Batch 2006.
The inaugural tournament is organized to promote camaraderie among the alumni of Abellana National School (ANS). Parts of the proceeds will be donated to the school’s student-athlete through the ANS Alumni office. (RSC)
