9-year-old girl found dead in Leyte

TACLOBAN (Updated) -- A nine-year-old girl was found dead in Carigara, Leyte Tuesday, June 25.

Police identified the victim as an out-of-school youth and a resident of Barangay Guindapunan West in Carigara.

Initial investigation showed that around 10 p.m. of June 24, the victim went out to accompany her cousin to the latter's house but she did not return.

Around 11 p.m. of June 24, the mother of the victim looked for her but failed to find her.

The girl's brother found the victim in a vacant lot around noon of June 25.

The Carigara Municipal Police Station led by Police Chief Master Sergeant Clemente Oledan is still investigating the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
