A 23-YEAR-OLD resident of Barangay Bacuyangan, Hinoba-an died of hacking incident on June 24.
The victim was identified as Nico Salve while the suspect was identified as Carlos Andalena, 59, of the same place.
Based on police investigation, the victim and the suspect were having a heated confrontation which prompted the suspect armed with a bladed weapon (bolo) to hack the victim.
The victim was hit on his face and fell. The victim was brought to Eleuterio Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician while the suspect was arrested and was placed under the custodial facility of Hinobaan PNP for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, a man was injured in a stabbing incident in Barangay San Pablo, Manapla on June 24.
The victim was identified as Ricky Merande, 19, while the suspect was identified as Mharkvin Dolar, both residents of the barangay.
Based on the report of the Manapla PNP, the suspect driving a tricycle while on his way home was blocked and mauled by the victim together with his two (2) other companions which prompted the suspect to stab the victim with the use of an ice pick hitting the victim on his left waist.
The victim was immediately brought by the Barangay Tanod to St. Anne Medical Center, Cadiz City for medical treatment while the suspect voluntarily surrendered to the Barangay Official of Brgy San Pablo and subsequently was turned-over to the responding team.
The suspect was apprised of his constitutional rights and was temporarily detained at the custodial facility of the Manapla PNP. (TDE)
