P160,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P160,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City.

The operations also led to the arrest of the two drug personalities identified as Stephen Chavez and Michael Jimenea.

Jimenea was arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 after he sold a shabu to a police undercover at Purok BM, Barangay Taculing around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25.

Police recovered from Jimenea’s possession four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P10,000, and the P300 marked money.

Chavez was also arrested in joint operation by operatives of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-6 and Police Station 2 at Barangay 10 around 4 p.m. on Monday.

Police recovered from Chavez’s possession 12 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P150,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 2 and 6 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
