Outgoing Porac mayor to leave post with impact projects

OUTGOING Mayor Condralito dela Cruz said Monday, June 24, that he is ready to leave his post as mayor, confident in the fact that he will be leaving with a considerable number of impact projects that have benefitted Porac town.

Chief among them is the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Campus in Barangay Pio, which in 2012 signed a memorandum of agreement with Porac for the establishment of a campus in the town.

Councilor Ludi Muli was chiefly responsible for pushing the ordinance establishing the satellite campus in 2012, while Councilor Fritzie David-Dizon donated the lot for the nearby extension campus for engineering courses.

Dela Cruz said roads and other infrastructure projects under his term had improved the town in many ways.

Just before ending his term this month, Dela Cruz led the groundbreaking for five government buildings in Barangay Jalung worth P57 million.

Dela Cruz said the buildings will be part of the legacy of his administration, adding he hopes the next mayor will see through the full completion of the facilities.

The facilities will provide full office for the Philippine National Police in the town and the local fire departments, which are currently housed at the Municipal Hall.

The multipurpose and evacuation buildings will provide venues for multi-purpose use for the town and official functions. The evacuation center will also enable quick response for the evacuation space for local residents and nearby towns.

Dela Cruz said his administration is now finalizing the audit of all municipal funds. He said there might be some P100 million in funds still remaining under his administration.

The outgoing mayor also thanked his supporters for supporting him in his three terms in office.

Dela Cruz said he will still be around to help constituents in a private capacity.
