HAVING sex inside a movie house could put you in prison for about 6 to 12 years, the Regulatory and Complaint Board (RCB) said.

While sexual activity is prohibited, RCB chairperson lawyer Edgardo Uy clarified that they are not prohibiting couples from watching a movie inside these establishments.

"Just make sure you are really watching a movie," Uy said.

He said the viewers, even if they are of legal age but are doing lewd acts in a public place like a movie house, could be liable for violation of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code. It prohibits immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows.

Violators could face a penalty of "prision mayor" or a fine ranging from P6,000 to P12,000.

Uy also clarified that the RCB is not anti-business. He assured that if a business establishment is compliant, the RCB will help promote it as child-friendly.

Uy said they are crafting an ordinance that will regulate movie houses. If enacted, movie houses shall be required to install CCTVs and put up doors that are not tinted.

"Dili lang sexual activity ang gibawal. Basin naa nay nag-collapse sa sulod aware dapat ang operator. Basin naay illegal drugs activity sa sulod ug uban pa nga illegal," he said.

"Dili man gyud totally bawal ang mag-uyab, ang atoa is bantayan lang nga nagtan-aw ra gyud ug sine, dili lain ang tuyo. Kung lain ang tuyo, didto nalang sa lugar na para anang mga butanga," he added.
