ANTHILL (Alternative Nest and Trading or Training Hub for Indigenous and Ingenious Livelihood seekers) Fabric Gallery, an advocate of sustainable fashion and pioneer of modern weave wearing in the country, presented something new for its patrons as it relaunched its brand.

The launch was set through an intimate gathering last June 13 at The Henry hotel, one of the brand’s corporate partners.

Anya Lim, co-founder and managing director of Anthill, presented to the guests the brand’s latest developments, including its fresh website, developed to further showcase the brand’s products.

Guests during the event included proud weave wearers, Cebu’s very own “Weave Ambassadors.”

In relation to this, Lim presented Anthill’s roster of corporate partners from schools, hotels and those in the food industry. One of these is The Henry, as its bed runners are sourced from Anthill, as well as the blazers its staff wears, featuring weave for accents. The brand also released its Men’s Capsule collection for male weave wearers looking to add some color and uniqueness in their wardrobe.

Anthill also took the time to share about its Zero Waste Innovation program with the Argao Cebu Weaving Community. Its textile and apparel designer, Jessica, partnered with Argao to co-create zero waste textiles out of upcycled fabrics. Since 2018, Anthill’s steady impact in the community has revitalized the weavers’ love for weaving, and this elevated the latter’s business and innovation skills.

Last, the brand launched its Pride Campaign, showing to its audience that Anthill is more than just a sustainable fashion brand but also a platform for raw and real conversations. This campaign is in celebration of Global Pride Month and Philippine Independence Month and featured six Cebuanos: podcaster and father Carlo Villarica, physical therapist and transman Van Go, financial consultant and mother Meryl del-Gallego Martinez, host and travel writer Jude Bacalso, poet and enabler of empathy Isan de Jesus, and director/producer Margo Frasco. And as a visual testimony, Anthill’s Pride Collection is comprised of three coverups called Gugma, Bangitan and Kamatuoran, all made to express that weaves are for everyone.

All these are available at Anthill Fabric Gallery’s flagship store located on Pedro Calomarde St., corner Acacia St., Gorordo Ave., and at the Honest Henry Store at The Henry hotel. (Contributed Photos)
