“ONE day, I was just thinking of what I liked and what I enjoyed doing, and how I could make money out of it. It didn’t feel like work to me since I enjoyed looking around and finding something cute to sell,” said Emily Liok, the woman behind accessory brand Pink Dot.

Why the name Pink Dot?

“Our favorite color is pink, and we wanted to have a catchy yet simple name and brand logo, so we ended up with Pink Dot!”

The brand features jewelry like earrings, necklaces and rings made of alloy, tassels and acrylic, to name a few. At present, it has released six collections: “The Jam Session Series;” “The Marble Clips;” “You Glow, Girl;” “Paradiso;” “Hoops Hoops Hoops;” and the most recent collection called “Pearls and Girls,” which features a mix of necklaces and earrings.

“The ‘Pearls and Girls’ collection is for all the dainty girls. The pieces are something one can wear on the daily or it could be one’s go-to bling,” Liok said, adding that the pieces are non-tarnish, hypoallergenic layered necklaces. “Soon, the next few collections will also feature statement rings.”

Accessories not only complement an outfit but also, like most fashion items, represent the wearer’s personality and sense of style. Finding the right kind of accessories can be confusing, given the endless amount of choices. However, there are also times when the selections are limited, thus limiting the wearer’s chance to experiment.

With this is mind, Liok aims to make Pink Dot as diverse as possible, catering to people of all ages.

“I try to make my collections very different every time, so I can cater to people with different styles and preferences—from students and Plain Janes to the adventurous fashionistas and titas. I see to it that there is something for everyone,” she added.

Once a clothing and swimwear brand founded by her mother, Ana, in 2013, Emily decided to rebrand it last March as an accessories brand. Through her interests in fashion and shopping, she turned her passion into a worthwhile project everyone could enjoy.
