JCI Cebu Hara to offer medical, dental aid to Adlaon residents

AFTER over 10 years of hiatus, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Cebu Hara is holding a medical and dental mission on Sunday, June 30, 2019 to kick off its official revival.

The all-lady leadership development organization is expecting 200 to 300 residents to avail themselves of medical and dental care in Barangay Adlaon, a mountain village in Cebu City situated 30 kilometers from the central business district.

“Barangay Adlaon is our chosen recipient since health services in the area are available only once a month as claimed by Barangay Captain Nieves Narra and it is confirmed by the assigned barangay city health officer Dr. Catherine Echevarri herself,” said JCI Cebu Hara adviser Josephine Formanez.

Support

The officials of Barangay Adlaon and JCI Cebu supported the project.

Health services include general medical checkup, distrubition of vitamins and medicines for common illnesses, simple tooth extraction and fluoride treatment.

In 1993, JCI Cebu Hara was named the Most Outstanding Chapter of the World during the JCI World Congress in Hong Kong.

The chapter also received the JCI Philippines’ Most Outstanding Chapter-Category III from 1991 until 1994.
