THE seventh edition of the Project Happy Feet Slipper Race organized by Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan raised more than P300,000 for the Philippine Accessible Disability Services (Pads).

The amount will go to the program of Pads dubbed “Empowering Women and Children through Adaptive Sports and Recreational Rehabilitation.”

The event was held on Saturday, June 22, 2019. It was participated by 63 teams from different companies and organizations.

A fund-raising event, the race’s aim was to support the education of less privileged but deserving children and youth.

Participants formed a team composed of five members. They donated P5,000 so they could join in the Slipper Race. Their donations were given in full to the chosen organization.

The teams, along with Crimson’s management, held a ceremonial walk prior to the race—a symbolic walk that made them feel what it is to be like a poor, yet persistent student who walks three to five kilometers each day just to reach school.

Afterwards, the 63 teams tackled the challenges of the five pit stops where they had to do relay and fulfill tasks. The three fastest teams that finished all obstacles emerged as winners.

First-time participants ACDI took the first place after completing the race in 53 minutes. The teams of AM Swiss and Dragon Fireworks won the second third places, respectively.

Four individual participants took home hotel vouchers from Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay, Quest Plus and Conference Center, Clark and F1 Hotel Manila.
