A WANTED personality who has been charged for allegedly raping his own niece back in 2014 was arrested by authorities during the implementation of Manhunt Charlie in Barangay Golden Valley, Mabini, Compostela Valley.

The suspect was identified as Ariel Maignos, 31, a resident of Barangay Golden Valley. He was nabbed through a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, assisting judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 3 of Nabunturan, Compostela Valley.

Police Brigadier General Marcelo Morales, Police Regional Office-Davao director, said the tracker team of Mabini Municipal Police Station, together with the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB)-Compostela Valley, conducted the operation around 12:30 p.m. of June 24.

The suspect was listed as number six most wanted person in Enhance Managing Police Operation Municipal Level.

In May 2014, the suspect's own niece charged him with rape after the latter revealed that she was sexually molested by him.

Meanwhile, Morales directed all city and provincial directors in the region to intensify police operations against wanted persons as part of their anti-criminality campaign.

"All police units must work together as we continuously step up our intensification of manhunt operations against wanted persons not just within the region but the whole country as well," he said.

The arrested person was placed under the custody of Mabini Police Station for temporary safekeeping pending his turnover to the court.
