Capitol tightens security for inauguration

CAPITOL security is tightened Saturday, June 29, for the inauguration and oath-taking of newly-elected provincial officials lead by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer in front of the Provincial Capitol Building.

Venchito Magalona, head of Capitol Security, said the South Capitol Road will serve as the main entrance for all the guests and it would be the loading and unloading area, while the South Capitol Road will serve as the parking area and at the front Capitol Hostel.

Magalona said invitations were given to guests who will be allowed inside the venue.

He said the South Capitol Road will be closed to traffic starting 9 a.m. Saturday, June 29, as per permit they acquired from the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office.

Magalona said if there should be rallyists, they will be dealt with maximum tolerance.

An anti-coal "silent rally" at the Capitol Lagoon Park will greet the inauguration Saturday.

Junjun Mojica, one of the organizers of the rally, said Coal-Free Negros and Youth for Climate Hope will be the lead group in Saturdays mass action that will protest the proposed 300 megawatt coal-fired power plant in San Carlos City.
