AS THE province of Davao Oriental celebrates its 52nd Founding Anniversary, the Provincial Government, through the Provincial Information Office, re-launched its official website -- www.davaooriental.gov.ph.

Provincial information officer Karen Lou Deloso said it took them five months to re-launch the website.

"We started from scratch -- from the design, programming, and organizing all the pages, since our old website had encountered a lot of technical issues before. Nevertheless, we are glad we are back," she said.

The website, developed by Infosoft Studio, features a simple yet sophisticated design. The site primarily contains information on the accomplishments of the Provincial Government and shows the governor at work.

It also features new sections such as Jobs and Career Opportunities; Public documents such as Procurement; SP Resolutions and Ordinance; and Executive Orders, hence, making dissemination of these important documents to offices a lot easier.

The website's design also showcases a touch of Davao Oriental "flavor."

"This is important because it is our portal not only to the rest of the country, but the rest of the world, we wanted it to become presentable and we are pleased about the outcome. The site hopes to share information on the Provincial Government's initiatives," she said.

Deloso said although the website is still a work in progress, there are still pages that need to be filled up and all the content available are already substantial.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang, for his part, said the site will help increase awareness about the Provincial Government's initiatives, as well as promote information, transparency and good governance, thus allowing participation among all residents and all stakeholders.
