Unabia wants another Emano as governor in 2022

GINGOOG City vice-mayor-elect Peter Unabia said Thursday, June 27, he will push for any member of the Emano family to lead the Provincial Government after the end Governor Yevgeny Emano’s term in 2022.

Unabia said he is rooting for Emano's sister Nadya Emano-Elipe or any member of the Emano family to replace Governor Bambi in the 2022 elections.

Emano-Elipe finished her three terms as councilor of Cagayan de Oro. She replaced her late father Vicente Emano as vice-mayoral candidate in the last election but lost to reelectionist Rainier Joaquin Uy.

The former First District representative said he will continue the political alliance with the Padayon Pilipino in the province.

Nadya, on the other hand, said that she has not considered succeeding her brother.

"I have not thought about it. We (the party and family) have not talked about it. As of now, I want to do something else," she said.

But, Unabia said there have been initial talks that he would be endorsed for the governorship although it was too early to confirm.

But he said there was a 70-percent probability that he would not seek the top post in the province.
