Lacson bares 'Abanse Negrense' battlecry

GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson bared that his new administration will be anchored on the battlecry “Abanse Negrense”.

"Everything is in place and it's just a matter of signing their appointments," Lacson said.

He said he chose the battlecry “Abanse Negrense” "because our programs before and the coming years are always geared for the Negrenses that's why we are putting our attention on the individual instead of the whole province, hoping that we could improve their lives.”

“Anything that we do we hope to benefit a Negrense," he said.

"Forwarding the cause of the Negrense for better lives especially those in the marginalized sector, that's my goal," he added.

Lacson, along with Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer and the members of the Provincial Board, held their inauguration and oath-taking ceremony Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Capitol grounds.

President Rodrigo Duterte gave a message to Lacson and his life partner Emily Yanson through a recorded video.

It started with a Holy Mass at the Social Hall of the Capitol which was exclusive for the newly- elected Capitol officials and their respective families. Media coverage was not allowed during the mass.

Some anti-coal protestors held a silent protest outside the Lagoon Park as the whole area was closed to make it exclusive for the invited guests during the inaugurals.

Lacson in his inaugural speech promised to continue the good programs of the past administration like the Negros First Comprehensive Health Program which they aim to increase the beneficiaries.

He bared that his administration will concentrate on agriculture, education, health, tourism and, above all, the economy.

"We want to continue to bring food to the table by making our farmers play a greater role in ensuring that goods will be quality and available and our people will have the power to purchase them. We need to enhance our mechanization program on farming and improve our assistance to farmers through inputs for better yield. We will ensure immediate transfer of technology to our farmers and assist them in ways that would boost availability and ensure stability among our agriculture stakeholders," the new governor added.

Lacson also bared that under his new administration job creation will be stepped up and investments brought in.
